About Ed Sheeran:

English singer-songwriter Edward Christopher Sheeran was born on February 17, 1991. He started writing songs when he was eleven years old. He was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk. Sheeran independently released the extended play No. 5 Collaborations Project at the beginning of 2011. In the same year, he secured a record deal with Asylum Records.

LaTocha Scott had been performing with a group called Precise before joining Xscape. Tamika, Scott’s sister, met Kandi Burruss while she was a student at Tri-Cities performing arts high school in East Point, Georgia. After the three started singing together, they added Tamera Coggins as a fourth member, albeit she didn’t stay with the group long.

Xscape was formally founded after Tameka “Tiny” Cottle was requested to try out for the girls. Record executive Ian Burke, who eventually became the group’s manager, was introduced to the girls following their significant debut performance at BET’s Teen Summit in 1992. Jermaine Dupri quickly became interested in Xscape and signed the group to his recording label, So So Def Recordings.
