About Traditional :

A tradition is a set of values or customs (folk customs) that have been passed down within a community or group of people and have historical roots. They might have symbolic or particular meaning. Holidays and unfeasible but socially symbolic attire (such as lawyers’ wigs or military leaders’ spurs) are famous examples of how culture and folklore are expressed.

However, the concept has also been applied to social conventions and actions like greetings. The word tradition itself comes from the Latin word tradere, which means to transfer, to hand over, or to offer for safekeeping. Traditions can endure and change for thousands of years. Despite the widespread belief that customs have a long past, many of them—whether political or cultural—have been purposefully created.

When someone uses the term “according to tradition” or “by tradition,” it typically indicates that the information that follows is only known through oral tradition and is not backed up by written records, tangible artifacts, or other reliable sources of evidence. Tradition serves as a gauge for the reliability of the knowledge being shared.

Tradition is utilized in artistic contexts to determine how an artwork should be shown.

For instance, when performing traditional genres (like traditional dance), performers’ own tastes are subordinated to rules governing the composition of the art form. A multitude of circumstances, such as industrialization, globalization, and the marginalization or integration of particular cultural groups, can worsen the loss of tradition.
