Living in New York City with her widowed mother Jennifer, a Punjabi Christian, her crippled brother Shiv, her adopted sister Jia, and her paternal grandmother Lajjo, a Punjabi Sikh, is Naina Catherine Kapur, a pessimistic and stiff Punjabi American MBA student. Jennifer and Jaswinder “Jazz” Kapoor, her neighbor, own an unsuccessful café. Lajjo is antagonistic toward Jia and Jennifer because she thinks Jia’s adoption caused her son—Jennifer’s husband and Naina’s father—to end his own life.

Jaspreet “Sweetu” Kapoor, Jazz’s sister, and her classmate Rohit Patel, a Gujarati American, are Naina’s two closest pals. Before Aman Mathur and his mother move in next door with his uncle, Pritam Chaddha, her life is dreary and clouded by the death of her father. Naina’s family gradually comes to appreciate Aman’s joy.

Mahadevan Shankar

Mendonsa Loy

Javed Akhtar is an Indian poet, lyricist, and screenwriter who was born on January 17, 1945. Known for his contributions to Hindi cinema, he has won five National Film Awards and been honored with two of India’s highest civilian honors, the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2007.

Akhtar made his breakthrough as a screenwriter with 1973’s Zanjeer after being well-known in the pair Salim–Javed. He later wrote the films Sholay and Deewaar, which were both released in 1975 and had a big cultural impact in addition to gaining a cult following. Later, he received recognition for his lyricist work, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist eight times and the National Film Award for Best Lyrics five times.

Childhood

In 1945, Javed Akhtar was born in Gwalior. His father, Jan Nisar Akhtar, was an Urdu poet and lyricist for Bollywood movies. His great-great-grandfather, Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi, was an Islamic scholar who led the Indian Rebellion of 1857 against the western colonies. His paternal grandpa, Muztar Khairabadi, and his grandfather’s older brother, Bismil Khairabadi, were both poets.

The line “Lamha, lamha kisi jadoo ka fasana” from a poem his father wrote inspired Javed Akhtar’s original moniker, Jadoo Hoga. Childhood and family

Advani was born into a Sindhi Hindu family in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, and grew up there. Hero (2015), a romantic action movie that Advani co-wrote with Umesh Bist, was his next project. It was a remake of the same-titled 1983 smash film by Subhash Ghai.
