About Anuradha Paudwal :

Born on October 27, 1954, Anuradha Paudwal is an Indian politician and playback singer who primarily performs in Hindi films. In the media, she has been referred to as one of the most well-known Bhajan singers as well as one of Bollywood’s most successful playback singers of the 1980s and 1990s. A National Film Award winner, four Filmfare Awards (which she won in a row from 1990 to 1992),

two Odisha State Film Awards, and other honors abound, she has also been bestowed with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian title, by the government in recognition of her artistic achievements. Her contributions to Bollywood and Indian devotional music earned her the titles “Melody Queen” and “Bhajan Queen.”

She received an honorary degree from D.Litt. from D Y Patil University, making Lata Mangeshkar the second vocalist to be awarded this degree. In addition to working in social work, she established the Suryodaya Foundation. Over the course of her five-decade career, Paudwal has recorded over 9,000 songs and over 1,500 bhajans in a variety of languages, including Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Assamese, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Nepali, and Maithili.
