Arijit Singh is an Indian playback singer and songwriter who was born on April 25, 1987. Awarded multiple accolades, such as a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards, he has composed songs in multiple Indian languages, mainly Bengali and Hindi. He is praised for his substantial contributions to modern Bollywood music and is well-known for his ability to deliver songs in a variety of musical styles. Singh is regarded as one of the finest vocalists of his generation as well.

In 2005, Singh made his television debut as a contestant on the modern reality series Fame Gurukul. Childhood

On April 25, 1987, in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, Arijit Singh was born into a Bengali Hindu family named Aditi Singh and a Punjabi Sikh father named Kakkar Singh. Lahore was the home of his paternal family during the Partition. At an early age, he started receiving instruction in music at home. His grandma was a singer, and his maternal aunt studied Indian classical music.

The role that his maternal uncle performed was tabla, and his mother performed on the tabla as well as sing. After completing his education at Raja Bijay Singh High School, he attended Sripat Singh College, an institution of the University of Kalyani. He claimed that although he “cared more about music,” he was a decent student, so his parents had chosen to have him trained professionally.

Rajendra Prasad Hazari taught him Indian classical music, while Dhirendra Prasad Hazari instructed him on tabla. He learned pop music and Rabindranath Tagore’s songs, known as Rabindra Sangeet, from Birendra Prasad Hazari. He began training under the Hazari brothers when he was three years old, and at nine years old, the government awarded him a scholarship to study Indian classical music singing.

Beginnings of a career (2005–2009)

2014

Singh had the opportunity to collaborate with Sajid-Wajid and A. R. Rahman, two of his favorite music directors, in 2014. He gave two performances, one each from Main Tera Hero and the Heropanti song “Raat Bhar” for Sajid-Wajid. Additionally, he did the Hindi dubbing for A. R. Rahman of the song “Medhuvaagathaan” from Kochadaiiyaan, which was named “Dil Chaspiya”.

He sang three re-mixed songs: “Samjhawan” by Sharib-Toshi for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and “Hungama Ho Gaya” by Amit Trivedi for Yaariyan. He worked on several songs that year, such as “Sawan Aaya Hai” with Tony Kakkar and “Tu Hi Hai Aashiqui” with Palak Muchhal.
