About Shreya Ghoshal :
Singer Shreya Ghoshal was born in India on March 12, 1984. Known for her broad vocal range and adaptability, she is among the most active and well-liked vocalists in India. In addition to winning multiple awards, including five National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, two BFJA Awards, seven Filmfare Awards, and ten Filmfare Awards South, she has recorded songs for movies and albums in both Indian and international languages. Ghoshal is recognized as one of the best vocalists of the Indian subcontinent and is frequently referred to as the “Queen of Dynamics” for her incredible vocal range.
Ghoshal started studying music when he was four years old. She began receiving official instruction in classical music at the age of six. Her mother, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, saw her when she turned sixteen, the year she won the TV singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma. After the triumph, she sang in Bollywood playbacks for the love film Devdas (2002) directed by Bhansali, for which she won three awards: the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent, the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer, and the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer.

On March 12, 1984, in Berhampore, Murshidabad, West Bengal, Shreya Ghoshal was born into a Bengali Brahmin family. She was raised in Rajasthan’s Rawatbhata, a tiny village close to Kota. Her mother, Sarmistha Ghoshal, is a postgraduate in literature, and her father, Bishwajit Ghoshal, is an electrical engineer who works for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India. At the age of four, she started learning music. She has a younger brother, Soumyadeep Ghoshal who is also a musician.
Ghoshal attended Atomic Energy Central School No. 4 in Rawatbhata until she finished the eighth grade of her education. She took first place in the sub-junior Light Vocal group at the 1995 All India Light Vocal Music Competition in New Delhi, which was run by the Sangam Kala Group. The hometown of Salim-Sulaiman is Mundra, Gujarat’s Kutch region. Mumbai is where they were born. On March 3, 1974, Salim Merchant was born, and on December 21, 1970, Sulaiman Merchant was born. Their father, Sadruddin Merchant, was an Ismaili Scouts Orchestra leader in India, and he served as an inspiration to them.
Having grown up in a musical household as the son of composer and film industry veteran Sadruddin Merchant, Salim studied piano at Trinity College of Music in London, while Sulaiman studied tabla with legendary players like Taufiq Qureshi and Ustad Zakir Hussain.
